Life is all about the choices and decisions we make. I hear so many people talk about God is in control. Is he really? Don’t stone me just yet. LOL! Let’s look at what the word control means…Control = To exercise authoritative or dominating influence over; direct. Of course you don’t have to agree with me but think about it. Is He exercising authoritative influence over your life? Or has He given you a CHOICE to follow His instructions He left us? Does God have a DOMINATING influence over your life? Or has He given you authority and dominion to control your own life? I say the latter. He has given us the instructions, information, and principles but it is up to us to apply them. He expects US to make the decisions and the choices to make our lives successful based on what He’s provided. We already have everything we need to be successful! The question is what are YOU going to do with what you have?
Life is like a road. There are long paths and short paths; sometimes smooth and sometimes rocky; they can be crooked or they can be straight paths. We’ll encounter many type roads as we journey through life; roads that lead to life’s blessings, roads that lead to fortune and fame, or roads that lead to isolation and poverty. Whether it’s the road to happiness, sadness, victory, or roads leading to defeat and disappointment. What road you take is PRIMARILY up to you. Yes some of the roads you are put on are not by choice, but how you handle things once you do have the ability to make a choice and decision, is really up to you.
You will come to the corners, detours, and crossroads in your life, but the most likely difficult road that you will encounter is a crossroad. With four roads to choose from, limited knowledge on where they lead to, which road do you take? Can we guarantee that we would choose the right one along the way?
There are no guarantees. You can’t know where every road will lead you until you take it. This is one of the most important things you need to realize about life. Nobody said that choosing to do the right thing all the time would be easy or always lead you to the place that you desire. There are too many possible outcomes, which you really cannot control. The only thing you have power over is the decisions that you will make, and how you act and react to different situations. So no matter what the road taken, no matter what you encounter along the journey, just cherish and learn the lessons along that path. If it was a difficult path that lead to heartache, you now know where that road leads and shouldn’t take that exact same route again. On the other hand, if the road lead to peace, happiness and success. Note the path that was taken, meditate and discover what and why it worked, then repeat it as often as you can as well incorporate it in other areas of your life.
