How to Know It’s Time for Change

timeforchangeAre you going through life and everything on the outside LOOKS like it’s okay but on the inside you know that something is missing or just. not. right.? Many times it’s multiple areas of our lives that begin to show us that it’s time for change. You’re not satisfied on your job that you use to love. Your relationship with your spouse is a little dry. People are getting on your last reserved nerve! Well, don’t ignore the signs but embrace them as catalysts for change to get you to the place of your deep desires and destiny. Here are some signs that you may be overdue for a change in your life.

You’ve become restless
One for sure sign that it’s time for a change in your life is restlessness. When you find yourself unable to rest and being uneasy or not sleeping well at night, it can certainly be a sign that something in your life is not as it should be. You may have an active life and tons of friends and family that you normally enjoy spending time with but lately you just don’t feel like that same routine. You go because you don’t have a REAL excuse, at least not something you can put words to, but you’d really rather be doing something else. Even if you’re not sure what that something else is. This is a sign of restlessness and very possibly it’s telling you that it’s time to make a change in your life. You’re feeling like something is missing because… something is missing. Are you living in and on purpose? What are your passions? Find something that you enjoy just for you and have at it. What’s stopping you? When there’s a will, there is a way. Discover your passion and purpose and you’ll begin to see and feel a life change.

Your patience is MAXED OUT!
Are you running on a short fuse lately? Do you know why? If you can’t pinpoint valid reasons that you’re losing patience with folk, then it could be that you just need a CHANGE of scenery. Sometimes we go through day after day dealing with the issues of the day and never really taking time for ourselves. This leaves us frustrated and snapping at the people around us for them just doing what they’ve always done. But, all of a sudden it’s annoying you. Your patience is maxed out. When your eyes open in the morning are you’re hitting the floor running to start your day? Try taking some time to yourself in the morning before anyone else is awake. Take at least 30 minutes to pray, meditate, or journal. This will calm you and add focus to your day and perhaps help you with building up your patience meter.

You fantasize about running way
Most of us as teenagers probably had some occurrence where we at least thought about running away from home. Think about it. We wanted to do something that someone (mainly a parent) wouldn’t allow us to do. We thought that running away would mean that we could do whatever we wanted to do and be happy. Unfortunately, some of us take this attitude into adulthood. We build a life (some on purpose, others not) and then feel trapped in this, what seems to be out of control, life. When your life is feeling out of control, it’s because it probably is out of control. To turn things around, set aside some time to evaluate your life. What’s going well? What’s not going well? And why? Then nurture what’s working and then come up with a plan to change what’s not working for you. You are in control of your life and you can rewrite the story when you get good and ready. And…no time like the present.

Choose to get out of your own way and create the life you want. Discover! Direct! Drive! Discover your purpose. Get direction through prayer, meditation, and journaling. Decide where you’re going, create the map and drive your way to a new life destination. Your life is in your hands. Things won’t change until you change and the first thing to change is your mind. Know that you CAN change your life and shift it in the direction that you desire. It’s really up to you.

So tell me. Are you ready for a change?
