How to Deactivate a P.O.O.R. Mindset

poorAre you missing out because you won’t step out?

The number one reason people do not experience the success they say that they want in life is because of a P.O.O.R. mindset. That is the mindset that causes you to Pass Over Opportunities Repeatedly.

The day you decide that you want to change something about your life is the first step in that journey. But that’s just the first step. Every decision has to be followed by an action. A “decision” not followed by action is just a thought that is passing over the opportunity to create real change.

If you’re serious about changing something, it must be followed by action. Even if it’s a small one. Know that a small step toward change is better than no step at all.

I come across women all of the time who “say” that they’re not satisfied with their lives but aren’t willing to do anything to change it. Why complain about your current situation when YOU have the power to change it? Every one of us has the ability to make choices and decisions. Are they always easy ones? Absolutely not, but then most things worth having don’t come easy. You have to have a make it happen mindset. That means you do what it takes, even if it’s an opportunity that comes with hard work.

What are you missing out on because you won’t make a move? Is the life or the business opportunity you want passing you by?

Here’s the thing. If you want something different you have to be willing to do something different. If you want to change your life then you have to change your mindset. Here are three things to keep in mind to change a P.O.O.R. mindset.

  1. Know what you want from your life – And I mean exactly what you want. I’m not talking about fantasy but actually getting by yourself, grab a journal, and write down what you envision your life to be. How will you know when you get there if you don’t know where you’re going? What do you want your life to look like three years from now? Write it out in detail and remind yourself daily of what your desired outcome is. When you focus on what you want out of your future, you’re more likely not to pass up opportunities that will help you get there.
  2. Get rid of excuses – When you loose all of your excuses, you will find all of your results. You can’t have both excuses and results at the same time – choose one. You can either stay stuck and live life with your excuses or you can choose to get results! My hope is that you will make a decision to take a no excuse approach to success. If you want it, go for it. Make it happen. And if you need help to do that, don’t be afraid to seek help. Hire a mentor or a coach who can get you to your desired results and cut through the mistakes and mishaps so you get to your destination faster.
  3. Invest in yourself – Successful people invest in themselves. PERIOD! You will not achieve lasting success without it. And if you’re not willing to invest in yourself, why should someone else? Your investment will come in the form of both time and money. You have to believe for yourself that you’re worth it.

The next time an opportunity presents itself that will lead you to your desired success, do not let it pass by. Make a sacrifice if needed to make it happen. Start today by deactivating the P.O.O.R mindset. If not, your life and your dreams will pass you by.
